I’m just a (slightly) crazy, fun-loving momma of 2 girls who worked like crazy to overcome negative body image & prevent it from controlling my life.

After gaining and losing 40 pounds, bingeing and restricting food, going through 2 pregnancies, and learning to stay consistent with my exercise routine regardless of what life threw my way (read: babies), you could say I have a few tricks up my sleeve.

In the past I felt sluggish, experienced brain fog, and was spilling over all of my clothes. I lacked self-esteem and grew increasingly frustrated. The body holds onto fat when there are too many toxins stored in the body (fat cells literally hold onto toxins). Fat is a protection mechanism of the body. If all the toxins in your fat were released into the blood at once, it could kill you within a few days (thanks, fat cells!).

When I first started exercising to lose 40 pounds it looked like the following:

Press play on a 60 minute workout dvd. 

Proceed to complete the first 15 minutes while giving the instructor very dirty looks. 

Give up after 15 minutes because the workout was so hard and I felt like 1000 pounds. 

AND...I actually ended up feeling worse after exercising because I could never complete workouts I had planned for myself...it just felt IMPOSSIBLE!

I knew that if I didn't make a change right then and there, not only would my weight gain continue to get worse, I would also continue to feel more tired, lazy, and lethargic if I let myself go on in the same direction.

I remember what it felt like to be completely stuck in a rut of feeling sorry for myself day in and day out.

I wasn’t fitting into any of my clothes, I had massive fatigue and brain fog, I hated looking at myself in the mirror, and I just didn’t recognize myself anymore.







I went all in, and decided I would rather be uncomfortable moving towards my goals than be uncomfortable and stuck in the same place.

I’ve tried many diets and different forms of exercise. I battled with bingeing and restricting. And I went from under exercising to obsessively over exercising. 

After a year, I lost the 40 pounds I had initially gained but I still had a “punishment” mentality when it came to exercising and eating healthy. My relationship with my body was far from healthy, but I was getting there. 

All I knew was that I couldn’t keep going in the direction I was headed. I knew I would only continue to gain weight and feel worse if I didn’t start changing soon.

Now, after years of struggling I can honestly say that I have never had a healthier and more loving relationship with my body. I exercise 2-3 days a week, and eat intuitively.

I have been able to maintain the same weight (and even lose a few pounds) over the last several years with EASE.
